Las financieras tienen 45 días adicionales antes de que entre en vigor la prohibición de transferencias de fondos con las empresas designadas, señala el Departamento del Tesoro.
El Departamento del Tesoro de Estados Unidos otorgó una prórroga de 45 días a Intercam, CIBanco y Vector Casa de Bolsa, a las que recientemente señaló de supuesto lavado de dinero, para aislarlas del sistema financiero estadounidense.
En un comunicado, la Red de Control de Delitos Financieros (FinCen), del Departamento del Tesoro, cita los avances del gobierno de México en la lucha contra el lavado de dinero por parte de los cárteles del narcotráfico.
Así, las financieras señaladas tienen 45 días adicionales antes de que entre en vigor la prohibición de transferencias de fondos con las empresas designadas. La nueva fecha de entrada en vigor es el 4 de septiembre.
Apenas en junio, el Departamento del Tesoro emitió órdenes a Intercam, CIBanco y Vector Casa de Bolsa por las que prohíbe todas las transferencias con ellas a partir de finales de julio.
«Esta prórroga refleja que el gobierno de México ha tomado medidas adicionales para abordar las preocupaciones planteadas en las órdenes de FinCEN, incluyendo asumir la gestión temporal de las instituciones afectadas para promover el cumplimiento normativo y la prevención de las finanzas ilícitas», señala el comunicado.
En él, la directora del FinCEN, Andrea Gacki, indicó que el Tesoro de EU «seguirá tomando todas las medidas necesarias para proteger el sistema financiero estadounidense del abuso por parte de actores ilícitos y combatir el financiamiento de organizaciones criminales transnacionales y narcotraficantes«.
La funcionaria estadounidense añadió que Estados Unidos y México se habían coordinado durante meses para tomar esas medidas sin precedentes.
Hacienda destaca colaboración con autoridades financieras de EU en caso Intercam, CIBanco y Vector.
Al respecto, la Secretaría de Hacienda y Crédito Público (SHCP) destacó que esta decisión es resultado del diálogo y la colaboración entre el Gobierno de México y las autoridades financieras de Estados Unidos.
Así como del diálogo y la comunicación constantes que se ha mantenido en torno a la situación de dichas entidades financieras, «en un marco de respeto a nuestra soberanía«.
En una breve nota informativa, recordó que el gobierno de México ha asumido la gestión temporal de las instituciones señaladas, con el objetivo de reforzar la supervisión, asegurar el cumplimiento regulatorio y evitar afectaciones a los usuarios del sistema financiero.
