El RUAC es una especie de CURP para mascotas, cuyo trámite es obligatorio en la Ciudad de México.
En la Ciudad de México es obligatorio que las mascotas estén inscritas en el Registro Único Digital para Animales de Compañía (RUAC).
Se trata de una especie de CURP para que los animales de compañía accedan a los servicios del Gobierno de la Ciudad de México para el bienestar y protección animal.
El RUAC sirve para el reconocimiento legal de la mascota y ayuda en caso de extravío, accidentes, maltrato y crueldad animal.
El trámite no tiene costo y se puede realizar en línea mediante la Llave CDMX.
Aplica para perros y gatos, de los que se requieren fotografías en posición frontal y lateral, así como junto al dueño o tutor.
El RUAC solicitará datos personales del propietario, así como de la raza y médicos del animal de compañía.
Una vez verificada la información, la plataforma generará una credencial digital con la Clave Única de Registro del animal, que el dueño podrá imprimir o visualizar siempre que lo requiera en la App CDMX.
Se recomienda grabar o bordar la clave RUAC en la pechera, collar o placa de la mascota.Es de precisar que el registro se debe realizar por mascota.
En caso de no tramitar el RUAC, la Ley de Protección y Bienestar de los Animales de la Ciudad de México contempla una multa de entre 21 y 30 veces la Unidad de Medida y Actualización (UMA), es decir, entre 2 mil 376 y 3 mil 394 pesos.
También se contempla un arresto de entre 24 y 36 horas.
