David Kershenobich Stalnikowitz, secretario de Salud, anunció que del 26 de abril al 3 de mayo, se llevará a cabo la Semana Nacional de Vacunación, en la que se aplicarán 14 biológicos del esquema básico que van estar disponibles en hospitales, clínicas y escuelas del país.
El objetivo es controlar enfermedades como poliomielitis, sarampión, tuberculosis y rubéola.
«(Las vacunas) han contribuido a la erradicación de muchas enfermedades y al aumento en la esperanza de vida y son un aspecto muy importante en la prevención primaria de la enfermedad. Próximamente del 26 de abril al 3 de mayo tendremos la primera semana nacional de vacunación», destacó en la conferencia matutina de la presidenta Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.
Detalló que las vacunas previene enfermedades graves y potencialmente mortales como el sarampión, la influencia, el tétanos, «las vacunas además producen protección comunitaria, cada uno que se vacuna puede alcanzar lo que llamamos inmunidad de rebaño reduciendo la propagación de las enfermedades».
Dijo que estarán disponibles las vacunas en hospitales, clínicas, escuelas, estados, municipios, y otros lugares accesibles y todas las vacunas son gratuitas.
