En un artículo de opinión publicado el sábado por el diario Welt, el dueño de X, SpaceX y Tesla estimó que «Alternativa para Alemania (AfD) es el último rayo de esperanza» para Alemania, que según él está «al borde del colapso económico y cultural».

Según sondeos, la AfD cuenta con 19% promedio de intenciones de voto para las elecciones anticipadas de febrero, detrás de los conservadores, con 32%.
El magnate que se ha convertido en un estrecho colaborador del presidente electo de Estados Unidos, Donald Trump, llamó al jefe del gobierno alemán, Olaf Scholz, «imbécil e incompetente» tras el ataque de este mes contra un mercado navideño.
El presidente del Partido Socialdemócrata, Lars Klingbeil, comparó el comportamiento de Musk con el del presidente ruso Vladimir Putin. «Ambos quieren que Alemania se debilite y se hunda en el caos», opinó.
