José Agustín Rodríguez Sánchez ha sido alcalde por parte del PRI y ahora presidirá el Concejo Municipal en Chignahuapan tras la anulación de la elección.
José Agustín Rodríguez Sánchez, originario del municipio de Tlahuapan, recibió la designación de presidente del Concejo Municipal en Chignahuapan por el Congreso de Puebla, luego de que se declaró anulada la elección por parte de los tribunales locales electorales.
José Agustin Rodríguez Sánchez fue alcalde con el PRI en el periodo 1996-1999 y en 2018 buscó con Movimiento Ciudadano (MC) repetir en la alcaldía.
El político tiene 63 años de edad y se graduó como licenciado en Economía además de que realizó un posgrado en la UNAM sobre política educativa y crisis económica.
De acuerdo con medios regionales, el exalcalde ha tenido cargos públicos en diversas administraciones estatales y recién se incorporó a Morena.
En el Concejo de Chignahuapan lo acompañan la síndico, Monserrat García Fuentes además de los regidores Mariana Sánchez Islas, Emma Pérez Millán, Sandra Cruz Luna, Maximiliano Galindo Rodríguez, Gloria León Cabrera, Amado Calderón Domínguez, Juana Saray Hernández Chávez, José Miguel Luna Mota, Miriam López Zamora, Moisés Sampayo Trejo, y Vanessa González Corona.
